Bisi Akande Wins Polling Unit for APC in Osun Governorship Election

Former Osun State Governor and founding interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bisi Akande, has recorded a victory for his party at his polling unit in Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Akande cast his vote earlier in the day at Polling Unit 12, Ward 4, in the Atogbade area of Ila-Orangun, within Ila Local Government Area.
At the end of the voting and counting process, the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, secured 181 votes at the polling unit, defeating Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, who received 121 votes.
Akande, popularly known among his political allies and supporters as “Baba Omokeekeeke,” a Yoruba expression meaning “father of small children,” served as Osun State governor between 1999 and 2003 under the Alliance for Democracy (AD).
His victory at the polling unit comes as voters across Osun State decide the next governor of the state in the ongoing election.
